There are 3 main types of pools out there – Gunite, Fiberglass, and Vinyl. I will explain each type, and then explore how a Desjoyaux Pool fits into its’ own category.
Gunite Pools are made from concrete and are generally the most costly to build. They are poured on-site and you can customize the size and design in many ways. Several finishes are available, such as plaster, paint, and specialty coating materials such as Pebble Tec are available in a range of colors.
Fiberglass Pools are manufactured and then delivered in one piece to the site. Typically they are more flexible than concrete pools, and are a better option in earthquake prone areas. There tends to be somewhat of a limitation on size and design due to the pre-fabricated nature of the pool.
Vinyl-Liner Pools are built with steel, wood, or panel walls that sit on a concrete foundation. A custom-made vinyl liner then covers the entire pool.
Desjoyaux Pools are a combination of a gunite pool and a vinyl-lined pool. A Desjoyaux Pool offers the strength and durability of a gunite pool, while at the same time protecting the walls from cracking and leaks with the patented Active Permanent Casing (which is made out of 100% recycled plastic!). A Desjoyaux Pool is then finished off with a vinyl liner, giving it maximum waterproofing while at the same time offering a soft finish.
Unlike the previous three types of pools, a Desjoyaux Pool has a pipe-less filtration system, eliminating any worry of pipes leaking or freezing. In addition, no backwashing is ever needed with the Desjoyaux system! A Desjoyaux Pool is the all-around best buy for low-maintenance, energy-efficiency, strength, and durability!
